The Nokia Theatre was alive with musical talent, upbeat energy and cheering fans at The Grammy Nominations LIVE in Los Angeles. Katy Perry opened the show by singing her popular, California Gurls while dressed in a festive silver dress and ornament hairclip. The hour-long event moved quickly with category nominations announced by several celebrities including: David Grohl of The Foo Fighters, Selena Gomez of The Disney Channel, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Stevie Wonder and Craig Ferguson, among others. Categories revealed are below:

LL Cool J, the host of the evening, agreed with the nominations saying, “The people nominated deserved them, it was fitting, it made sense.” With seven nominations, Bruno Mars was well received as he sang, Just the Way You Are. “It’s been an incredible year, we’ve worked so hard trying to make a living making music and the fact that we’re here is an incredible feeling,” said Bruno Mars. He later performed song, Nothing On You with musician, B.O.B., who received five nominations, including record of the year. “I’m grateful for the team I’m surrounded by, we’ve been envisioning this for years so to see it come back around; it’s like the twilight zone,” said B.O.B.
Neil Portnow, President and CEO of the recording academy said, “We’re exceedingly proud of the nominations, we have some really wonderful talent, great recordings and wonderful tours, and we have them all in the mix this year.”
