Buddy Sampson, Bassist, Composer and Publisher of The Scoop LA.com, presents Jazz and Funk Night on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at King King Hollywood to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Get into the spirit of the holidays with an exciting array of up-and-coming jazz, funk and R&B artists. A jam-packed evening of great live music with Buddy Sampson and Friends featuring Rachel Grace on electric violin, Crystal Mantecon on vocals and performance art, and special guest artists joining in to jam. Also on the line-up are The Jazz Scribes, featuring jazz and music critics who are accomplished musicians in their own right; Rachel Grace and Saga Strings, exciting ensemble filled with electric string instruments sure to bring everyone to the dance floor; and the exciting R&B group Crosstown Traffic, which features scintillating singer and performer Myra Washington and ex NBC Voice star TJ Wilkins, who will also perform with Buddy Sampson in his ensemble. The MC for the evening is singer/songwriter and actress Esther Canata.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. A full-bar is available. All guests are encouraged to bring new and unwrapped toys for the Toy Drive. The event takes place on December 3, 2013, from 7:00 p.m.-11p.m. at King King Hollywood, located at 6555 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028.

Opening the show will be The Jazz Scribes, featuring jazz journalist Scott Yanow on saxophone, classical writer for The L.A. Times’ Richard Ginell on keyboards, A. Scott Galloway, formerly of the Urban Network on drums and Buddy Sampson on bass. To get the crowd dancing, Rachel Grace and Saga Strings features Electric Violinist Rachel Grace who is one of the hottest and most unique artists in the current classical and dance music scene generating energy and excitement everywhere she performs.

Firing up crowds all over the globe, Saga Strings brings entertainment in dance music to a new level. Four virtuoso string players, all classically trained and with impeccable improvisation skills, surprise any audience beyond expectations. R&B band, Crosstown Traffic, bring their solid rhythms to the stage featuring the sensational vocalist Myra Washington, who was a featured background vocalist on the X Factor.

Buddy Sampson, widely known in Los Angeles as the Publisher of The Scoop LA, is a talented bassist and songwriter whom has written for independent films and performed in several countries, including the British Virgin Islands, Germany, Switzerland, Costa Rica and France. In 1999, he performed with singer Larry Woodley for the Montreux Jazz Festival and had the opportunity to jam with legendary guitarist Steve Cropper and rocker legend Edgar Winter.
