Biden and Harris Give Opening Arguments

By Buddy Sampson

Wilmington, Delaware- In stirring and dramatic fashion, Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden introduced his running mate, a woman of South Asian and African American descent, Kamila Harris. “She’s worked hard,” said Joe Biden. “She’s never backed down from a challenge. And she has earned each and every of the accolades and achievements she has gained, and many of them in the face of obstacles that others put in her way. And she never quits.”

Kamila Harris, the second African American woman to serve in the Senate and the first Indian American Senator, becomes the first African American woman to serve as a Vice Presidential appointee. She recognized the historical significance of the moment. “I’m so proud to stand with you, Joe,” said Kamila Harris, addressing Joe Biden. “And I do so mindful of all the heroic and ambitious women before me, whose sacrifice, determination and resilience makes my presence here today even possible. This is a moment of real consequence for America. Everything we care about- our economy, our health, our children, the country we live in- it’s all on the line.”

Biden and Harris both delivered exceptional speeches that seemed like the opening arguments of a case being prosecuted with the American people serving as jury. “As someone that’s presented my fair share of arguments in court, the case against Donald Trump and Mike Pence is open and shut,” said the former Attorney General of California. “Just look at where they’ve gotten us.”
