Mbaji, a writer and producer born in Chicago, Illinois, formed BackHouse Nation, a production/songwriting conglomeration that is growing in size and scope. Mbaji’s music has been recorded by some of the biggest names in music, including the SOS Band, Donald Byrd, Eddie Kendricks, Erykha Badu and J Dilla. He and his writing team, that composes music that could be considered a mixture of R&B, Jazz, Funk, and Pop, also penned songs for Gene Harris, and has been sampled by such musical luminaries such as Ice Cube, Tribe Called Quest, Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff; De La Soul and Wyclef Jean.

Mbaji, who first started as a lyricist, had his first published song, “Let Yourself Go,” recorded on the Tamla label by former Temptations lead singer Eddie Kendricks. His writing team, which included Sigidi and Harold Clayton (who wrote the song “Take Your Time for The SOS Band), had their songs “Think Twice,” and mega hit “Fallin’ Like Dominoes” recorded by trumpeter and performer Donald Byrd. “Think Twice,” has been recorded by Erykha Badu, J Dilla, Ralph Myers, and The Detroit Experiment.  Those popular songs found their way into the hip hop community and are a part of sampling culture.

Robbie Love, a seasoned figure in the music industry, inherits her legacy from the esteemed Ms. Mary Love, ensuring her musical journey began virtually at birth. Raised in a vibrant rock & roll environment, Robbie was immersed in a constant stream of music and surrounded by talented musicians and entertainers.

Her initiation into the world of recording studios commenced at a mere two weeks old, and by the age of 12 Robbie had already provided her singing voice for her mother’s music recordings. Establishing herself as a proficient singer and entertainer, Robbie Love has collaborated with illustrious figures such as Roy Ayers, Keb’ Mo, and Ronald Bell of Kool & The Gang, among others.

She is featured on Backhouse Nation’s latest release, ‘That’s Life’, and will be releasing her own single, ’24-7′, produced by Mbaji, also known as Backhouse Nation, on July 27th. Looking ahead, Robbie Love is focused on completing her upcoming EP, scheduled for release by February 2025.
