2011 Living Legends Awards Ceremony Honors Angela Bassett, Stephanie Mills, Eddie Levert, Walter Williams, and Jeffrey Osborne

LOS ANGELES CA – There’s an old saying “give me my flowers while I’m living,” which simply means show people how much you appreciate them and give them praise while they are alive. Golden Globe Award winning actress Angela Bassett, Grammy Award winning singer Stephanie Mills, R&B megastars and founding members of the O’Jays Eddie Levert and Walter Williams, and dynamic vocalist/songwriter Jeffrey Osborne were given their “flowers” during the 2011 Living Legends Award Ceremony at the California African American Museum. State proclamations were presented to the honorees and musical tributes from Deniece Williams, Elaine Gibbs, Side Effect, Kenny Lattimore, the Mt Rubidoux SDA Choir and a spoken word verse from Edna Tatum made the evening unforgettable.
