The 5 Piece Ensemble Rocks The Outdoor Concert in San Pedro for Century Motorcycles

By Bernard Samms

June 19, 2011- Signature, an exciting ensemble that featured G. William Daley (Bill) on guitar and lead vocals, LC Powell (Butch) on keyboards and vocals, Greg Terry on drums and vocals, and Neal Shelton on saxophone, played an exciting set in San Pedro on Father’s Day to commemorate an anniversary of Century Motorcycles, owned by motorcycle maven Cindy Rutherford. The Scoop LA’s Publisher, Buddy Sampson, guested on bass guitar for the engagement, which had motorcycle riders from many walks of life. Cindy wowed the crowd by riding on a motorized scooter while honking her horn. It drew lots of laughs and made a great event a lot of fun.

The ensemble was led by Daley on guitar. Daley’s strong vocals buoyed the group. He sang several of the ensemble’s songs, including a Jimi Hendrix standard, “Hey Joe,” and a popular R&B standard, the Bill Withers song “Ain’t No Sunshine.” He bought a rise out of the audience when he made a James Brown type yell on the closing song, “Mustang Sally.” Holding down the drums solidly was Terry, who also sang background vocals as well. Saxophonist Neal Shelton added a down home flavor, while Powell added color on the keyboards.
