Throughout our lives, we achieve, succeed, learn, grow, play and much more. Much of this we do with the help, participation and involvement of other people. Sometimes we have a group of people that we spend regular time with. Other times it is our best friend, significant other or co-worker. Regardless of which human being is involved, we get a lot of joy from letting others into our lives. Relationships are fundamental to a fulfilling life.

For some people in today’s times, a new business or a side business can lead to greater income freedom and stability. It is the best time to think of going into business for yourself, or increasing your current business success.I am always thrilled to meet an expert that can give me advice in different pertinent areas of life. This is invaluable information can be life changing knowledge. I got the chance to talk with Ursula Mentjes; author, inspirational speaker and sales expert. She was thrilled at the chance to give the readers of The Scoop L.A. some extremely useful tools, tips and encouragement for your life, dreams, goals and career.

Ursula Mentjes, a very inspirational lady.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MARKET YOURSELF/GRAB ATTENTION/GET MOST OF YOUR BUSINESS?

Ursula’s business has grown mostly through speaking, networking and referrals, with a bit of Facebook mixed in. She mentions that to get your business started, that all types of networking are HUGE! Go connect with your target market. Who is going to be buying what you are selling? Maybe you can meet these people at events, but it could also be the grocery store, at the place where you volunteer, or even at a personal development seminar.

WHAT IS THE BEST CAREER MOVE TO BEGIN A NEW BUSINESS AS AN ENTREPRENEUR WITH THIS ECONOMY?

If one is beginning a business with no or only limited funds, this is still possible. You can start by attending a free networking event, speaking about your business to people, and collecting their business cards. Later, send out emails describing your business to these new contacts, as well as to current contacts that you have. Vistaprint offers free business cards. Make sure it matches your brand. You can get a free WordPress blog as your website, and get your business going at no charge.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO COME OUT OF FEELING DISCOURAGED ABOUT THE ECONOMY, BEING LAID OFF, OR HAVING LIMITED FUNDS?

This is the best thing that ever happened to you. Your deepest intention almost always comes true. Many times, deep down, this is what you have always wanted, and it has manifested. Now you have the room to do something different. Take responsibility for it, and doors will open for you.

DO YOU THINK IT’S BENEFICIAL TO GET YOUR COLLEGE DEGREE REGARDLESS OF YOUR AGE, OR TO JUST GO FOR IT AND BEGIN A BUSINESS OR JOB?

It depends on what you want to do. It’s not necessarily true that you must get a degree. On the flipside, will it benefit you for what you want to do? It could be that you take classes on being an entrepreneur for free. The important thing is to start now by taking something, and see what unfolds.

WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU NEED TO HAVE TO MAKE MONEY?

The important qualities one needs to be a money maker, would be a no excuses attitude. Once you decide what you want, get your rocket off the ground. Once you are in the air, you can direct it. Have persistence. Know what you can do, no matter what. Stay in the game. Get rid of limiting beliefs. Get help from a coach or mentor to work through it all. Sometimes roadblocks can be distressing, but press on. Don’t worry what people think. Be a leader, role model, and your authentic self.

WHAT ARE THREE ADJECTIVES THAT DESCRIBE WHATS IMPORTANT TO YOU IN YOUR BUSINESS?

Inspiration of self and others, integrity and creativity.

WHATS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOURSELF TO TAKE ACTION?

Go with what you have at hand. Don’t look outside of yourself.Follow what’s in your heart and what you are guided to do. Money is trying to get to you and you may be not letting it unfold! Ask youself and the universe, How can money get to me right now? Find people to help you, and get in tune with the universe. Match your thoughts and actions with what you desire.
